Celebrate the Fourth of July with Your Kids by Making Red, White and Blue Bubble Wands!

Watching fireworks is one of my favorite things to do on the Fourth of July but can only be enjoyed at night. A fun holiday activity for the kids to do while waiting for showtime is to make patriotic beaded bubble wands!

Supplies

To make a basic bubble wand, you will need pipe cleaners, colorful plastic beads, an empty toilet paper tube and scissors. If you have some small cookie cutters, you can shape the end of the wands around them. If not, it’s easy to just make a circular loop.

Instructions

1. Choose some red, white and blue plastic beads of various sizes and place them in a bowl.

2. Tie a knot on the end of a pipe cleaner to keep the beads from sliding off.

3. Add beads to the open end until half the pipe cleaner is covered.

4. Wrap the remaining pipe cleaner around something round, like a toilet paper tube, to make a circular shape and twist the end of the pipe cleaner around the bottom. You can also just form a circle with your fingers.

5. You can also wrap the end of the pipe cleaner around a small cookie cutter.
